Terms of Service

By accessing or using Cortavid ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Cortavid. We may update them from time to time as described in Section 13.

Cortavid is a tool that generates short-form videos from text prompts using AI models. You type an idea, review and edit an 8-scene storyboard, and render a publishable short. The Service also offers optional AI narration.

Cortavid is a creative software tool. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for professional services. You are responsible for how you use the videos you create.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Cortavid. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current. Each person may hold one account.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Because we use passwordless magic-link authentication, keep your email account secure — anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you.

Usage is measured in Short Credits (SC). The number of credits a short costs depends on the model you choose (for example Speed = 1 SC, Quality = 3 SC, Cinematic = 4 SC, Premium = 7 SC). The exact credit cost is always shown before you render.

Short Credits never expire. Credits are included with your subscription and remain usable for as long as your account exists, including after you cancel a subscription (see Section 6). Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

Cortavid offers a Free plan (storyboard preview only), a Creator plan (€24/month), and a Pro plan (€59/month), with optional one-time credit packs. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically each month until you cancel.

Prices are stated in euros (EUR) and are exclusive of VAT. Any applicable VAT or taxes are added at checkout based on your location.

You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not charge a cancellation fee.

Any Short Credits already in your balance stay usable after cancellation, consistent with our "credits never expire" policy. Unused subscription credits are non-refundable — they are a monthly usage allowance, not a stored cash balance.

If a render fails due to a fault on our side, the Short Credits spent on that render are automatically refunded to your balance.

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, consumers normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase. For digital services that are supplied and consumed immediately, this right does not apply once performance has begun with your prior consent.

Please read carefully: by starting to use your Short Credits (for example, by rendering a video), you expressly request that we begin providing the digital service immediately, and you acknowledge that you therefore lose your 14-day right of withdrawal for the credits consumed. Credits you have not yet used are not affected by this waiver.

You retain all rights to the videos you generate with Cortavid. We do not claim ownership of your prompts or your outputs.

To deliver the Service, you grant Cortavid a limited license to process your prompts and to store and transmit your generated outputs as needed to operate, maintain, and provide the Service to you. This license exists only for the purpose of running the Service.

Videos produced by Cortavid are generated by AI models. Quality, accuracy, and style vary, and we cannot guarantee any specific result for a given prompt.

You are responsible for verifying that each output is suitable for your intended use and for ensuring that the content you publish does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.

You agree not to use Cortavid to create or distribute:

• Illegal content of any kind.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits minors.
• Targeted harassment, threats, or abuse.
• Impersonations of real people without their consent.
• Content that violates the intellectual property rights of others.
• Automated mass-generation designed to circumvent rate limits or other safeguards.

You also agree not to resell, sublicense, or otherwise transfer Short Credits to third parties.

We provide the Service on a best-effort basis. During the current beta phase we do not offer a guaranteed service level (SLA), and maintenance windows or interruptions may occur.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is capped at the total amount you paid to Cortavid in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or data loss beyond our reasonable control.

We may modify these terms over time. For material changes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the notice period means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes will be subject to the courts of Barcelona, Spain. If you are an EU consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence.
